For the first time in forever. I am going to Disneyland tomorrow for my (and my mom's) B-day. A thousand yays. Not even missing my Thursday television trinity (Bones, Supernatural , and The Mentalist) can dampen my mood (I already had a good cry yesterday, though that had been a long time coming and had been building up for forever) because of Disneyland. I even think we're getting annual passes again which will improve the mood of everyone (my parents have been such downers lately and going to the Park occassionally will heighten their mood greatly, I believe). So YAY! :D

IT MAKES ME PRODUCTIVE?

I MADE BROWNIES! I'VE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE. OR EVEN BEEN INCLINED TO. THE ISOLATION IS GETTING TO MY MIND OBVIOUSLY.

...They're actually pretty good. Not quite like Mom's, but they're... palatable. No, yummy. Geez, am I developing cooking skillz?

I blame the SyFy channel, I've been watching their original series Wolf Lake all morning. So the only explanation for this is werewolves = brownies. I blame my mom, too. If she had remembered to buy hot chocolate yesterday, I wouldn't have been forced to go to such lengths to get warm chocolaty goodness.

WTF. omnomnomnom

So, Kitty is now eating rats. Very small, baby rats. :'(

I held one. It was all fluffy and soft and sweet, it didn't bite like the mice (even though its sibling was getting crushed and eaten less than a foot away). They both were black and white with hoods and long black whiskers. I didn't want to feed it to my angry little python, I wanted to keep it and cuddle it and name it something cliche, like Oreo. But alas, it was not to be.

Dammit, this is why I asked for pre-killed rats.

In other news, I've been watching Dexter all day. I'm still on season 1, but I'm totally hooked. It is awesome.

He bit me for the second time and this time he didn't let go and had to be prized off with a pen.

I really don't know what's up with him. Ball pythons are fairly docile snakes most of the time and Kitty used to be a sweetheart. I'd remove mites from his head and he would not get angry with me, let go of his head and the tantrum was done and he'd just go slithering on. And during the mite bath he was nervous, but once again, no aggression.

Now he's prone to snapping during feeding time (out of impatience) and has taken to biting me without provocation while I'm handling him. First time he bit my hand (catching my left ring finger and palm) while I was lifting him out of his tank and let go before I'd fully comprehended that he'd bitten me. That one wasn't such a big issue, you own a snake you're going to be bitten and seeing as I was lifting him out of his home at the time, it wasn't such an unusual reaction. The most recent bite has me worried, though. I wasn't doing anything, I was just sitting on the couch watching TV while Kitty slithered along my legs (like he enjoys doing), and then BAM, he's got the top of my foot. And rather than immediately release, he grips tighter. I was screaming the entire time out of shock and fear rather than hurt, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get his teeth out. The wound's a lot worse too, it still stings a bit (it happened yesterday) and there's more teeth marks and they're deeper.

Naturally, I'm concerned. There are several possible reasons as to why: Kitty's hungry because Theresa's downsizing of their mice has thrown off his meals (I'm planning to switch him to rats soon), he's about to shed, he's constipated, the temperature of his tank is fluctuating, he's hitting snake puberty, he's sick, or he hates me (I'm hoping to correct this by putting something with my scent on it in his tank).

Here's to hoping I'll get my sweetheart back.

Electricity went out in my neighborhood today, it stayed out for about four hours and then went out briefly later on. Figures that when I'd begin to enjoy the outage, we had the candles out and I was begging to roast marshmellows and there was possibly going to be a family game of Monopoly and we had gotten some BBQ from the new place by Edwards (it was delicious btw), the power switches on again. It always happens that way. Every time.

Let's all just sit around and fill the air.

blah blah blah )

Movies I wanna see:

I've made some plans. )

Have only my cousin and I read Enchantment by Orson Scott Card? It was a good life decision for me, it could be the same for you. Baba Yaga, a god called Bear, Judaism, Russian mythology, early Christianity, a twist to the old Sleeping Beauty story, the clever weaving of modern life and magic, plane hijacking oh my. I was hooked from the get go and I haven't read many books since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.

It was awesome. I pretty much liked everything about it, and that's a first for me when it comes to the Harry Potter films, in which I usually find little to like. It seemed, to me, that it balanced the magic, the teenage society, and the plot perfectly. The humor was great, the dramatic parts made me tear up, and the action was top-notch. The acting was brilliant from all of the cast, I was surprised by Radcliffe in particular. I usually don't much enjoy his portrayal of Harry but in this movie I found his performance most satisfactory. He actually behaved like Harry IMHO. See it and then see it again. (I've seen it three times so far; the midnight premiere, with my friend for her B-day, and with my sis and mom. And I am planning to see it again in IMAX when I can.)

While watching, keep an eye out for Pigwidgeon (in Ron's bedroom) and a boy reading what appears to be a wizard pornographic book (in the library when Harry and Hermione are walking by the aisles as she replaces books).
